Luego de varios años, The National se animó finalmente a lanzar su esperado disco tributo a Grateful Dead, Day of the Dead . La placa que saldrá el 20 de mayo a través de 4AD, cuenta con 59-pista con una legión de músicos entre los que encontramos a Wilco, Mumford and Sons, The Flaming Lips, Anhoni, Jim James de My Morning Jacket, Sharon Van Etten y Local Natives en homenaje a los grandes emisores del rock.
Una muestra de los covers en el registro llegó el mes pasado con el lanzamiento de pistas por Courtney Barnett, The War on Drugs, y The National, así como canciones de colaboración de Bruce Hornsby y DeYarmond Edison, Jenny Lewis y Phosphorescent. Hoy en día, otro tipo de colaboración se ha puesto de manifiesto, The National han unido sus fuerzas con Daniel Rossen y Christopher Bear de Grizzly Bear para cubrir “Terrapin Station (Suite)«
