Gary Holt de Slayer abandona la actual gira de despedida para cuidar a su padre

El guitarrista de Slayer, Gary Holt, está dejando la actual etapa europea de la gira de despedida de los thrash metal titans, revelando que su padre tiene poco tiempo de vida. Phil Demmel, quien recientemente interpretó su último show con Machine Head, reemplazará al guitarrista.

Holt, quien también es miembro de Exodus, actuó el domingo por la noche en Berlín, Alemania, y luego se lanzó a Instagram para hacer el anuncio, publicando una foto de él mismo con Demmel y su compañero guitarrista Kerry King. Se perderá los últimos cuatro conciertos en la carrera europea de Slayer, comenzando con el show de esta noche en Copenhague, Dinamarca.

«Lo primero es lo primero. Quiero agradecerle a Berlín por el asombroso espectáculo, el mejor público del mundo ”, comenzó Holt. «Pero lo que tengo que decir ha sido muy difícil para mí en los últimos 10 días aproximadamente. Mi padre está muy cerca del final de su viaje. He estado tocando estos últimos shows con el corazón más pesado, y con ese corazón pesado, tengo que anunciar que me voy de la gira europea de Slayer«.

Agregó: “Debo regresar a casa para ayudar a cuidar a mi papá en sus últimos momentos. Esta noche terminó conmigo llorando mientras terminaba ‘Angel of Death’, pero la multitud sacó lo mejor de mí. Gracias desde el fondo de mi corazón. Y dicho esto, quiero que todos y cada uno de los fanáticos de Slayer den sus gritos más grandes a Phil Demmel, la leyenda del Bay Area. Mi querido amigo, que acababa de terminar una gira, aceptó ayudarme a mí y a la banda a aprender un set completo de Slayer en días y venir aquí para que pueda regresar a casa con mi padre«.

First things first, I want to say thank you to Berlin for the AMAZING show tonight!! BEST CROWD EVER! But what I’ve got to say has been very very hard for me these last ten days or so. My father is very near the end of his journey,I’ve been playing these last several shows with the heaviest of hearts.And with that heavy heart I have to announce I am leaving the Slayer European tour. I must return home to help care for my dad in his final moments. Tonight ended with me in tears while finishing Angel of death. But the crowd brought out the best in me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you all. And that having been said, I want EACH AND EVERY Slayer fan to give their biggest screams for Phil Demmel @demmelitionmh !! Bay Area legend!!! My dear friend, who having JUST finished a tour agreed to help me and the band out and learn an entire Slayer set in days and come out here so I can return home for my dad.
