Hace 45 años, Pink Floyd creó un escenario en el interior del antiguo anfiteatro romano de Pompeya, Italia e interpretó canciones de su álbum de 1971 Meddle. No había nadie en la asistencia para aquel concierto, pero el director Adrian Maben grabó ese concierto de la banda y el cual lleva por nombre Live in Pompeii.
El jueves por la noche, David Gilmour volvió a Pompeya para un concierto de regreso luego de mucho tiempo, y esta vez lo hizo con miles de aficionados presentes. Ellos fueron tratados con un impresionante conjunto que incluía una actuación poco común de dos cortes de The Dark Side of the Moon con «The Great Gig in the Sky» y «One of These Days«, que se llevó a cabo durante en el concierto de Pink Floyd realizado en 1971.
