Polaris Music Prize, un premio anual al mejor álbum del año de Canadá, ha anunciado hoy su larga lista preliminar de nominados. Arcade Fire, the Weeknd, Destroyer y Tanya Tagaq hicieron el corte, junto con Orville Peck, PUP, Julie Doiron y el ganador de 2020 Backxwash. Un grupo de escritores, programadores y locutores determina los nominados y los ganadores se anuncian en septiembre. Vea la lista completa de nominados a continuación.
Según un comunicado, un jurado de 197 miembros consideró 223 álbumes para el premio de este año, y una lista corta llegará el próximo mes. El ganador recibe un premio de $50,000 con el honor. El año pasado, Cadence Weapon se llevó a casa el premio por Parallel World.
