En febrero, Bright Eyes anunció nuevas reediciones de los primeros tres álbumes de la banda y, ahora, Conor Oberst y compañía. han revelado que los próximos tres álbumes de Bright Eyes también serán reeditados. Lifted or the Story Is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground, I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning; y Digital Ash in a Digital Urn saldrán en formas actualizadas el 11 de noviembre a través de Dead Oceans.
Al igual que con las reediciones anteriores, cada álbum estará acompañado por un nuevo EP «compañero», en el que la banda vuelve a grabar cinco canciones del álbum original con nuevos músicos, junto con una versión. A Oberst se unieron los músicos de Bright Eyes Mike Mogis y Nathaniel Walcott, además de Gillian Welch, Dave Rawlings, Becky Stark, Maria Taylor y más.
Bright Eyes lanzó su décimo álbum de estudio, Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was, en agosto de 2020. El año anterior, Conor Oberst se asoció con Phoebe Bridgers para su álbum colaborativo como Better Oblivion Community Center.
