The National versiona a INXS para recaudar dinero en ayuda a los incendios que han afectado Australia

The National versiona «Never Tear Us Apart» de INXS para una nueva compilación de ayuda contra los incendios forestales de Australia. Escucha abajo.

La compositora australiana Julia Stone encabeza la nueva compilación de Canciones para Australia, que sale digitalmente el 12 de marzo a través de BMG. El álbum beneficiará a aquellos «que están trabajando para crear un futuro mejor para el país y ayudar a reconstruir durante y después de la crisis de los incendios forestales«, según un comunicado de prensa. El dinero recaudado del registro se destinará a las siguientes organizaciones: Firesticks, Landcare Australia, SEED, Emergency Leaders for Climate Action, WildArk y NSW RFS .

Además de The National, Songs for Australia presenta a Kurt Vile (realizando «Stranger Than Kindness» de Nick Cave), Joan as Policewoman, Sam Amidon y más. A continuación, mire el video «Beds Are Burning» de Julia Stone.

I’m so so happy to announce a project i’ve been working on over the last few weeks. The video/song I posted earlier of ‘Beds Are Burning’ got me started… inspired I reached out to artists I had a connection with. I thought we could do more, with more of us. I asked if they would cover an Australian song for an album that would raise money for the bushfire crisis. The response was immediate and immense. So many incredible artists have done astonishing versions of some classic Australian tunes. This record ‘Songs For Australia’ sounds AMAZING_ so grateful to @thenational @dermotkennedy @damienrice @kurtvile @joanaspolicewoman @samamidon @dansultanmusic @dopelemonmusic @paulkellyofficial @martha.wainwright @petitbiscuit @pommeofficial who all came back to me, so happy to do anything to help out down here, and have delivered unbelievably beautiful music.
