Gorillaz abrió su residencia de cuatro noches en el Copper Box Arena de Londres con dos conciertos especiales el 29 y 30 de agosto. En la primera fecha tocaron completo su disco debut de 2001, rescatando canciones que no interpretaban desde 2002 como “Man Research (Clapper)” y “Slow Country”. Al día siguiente, revivieron el show íntegro de Demon Days con invitados como De La Soul, Bootie Brown (The Pharcyde) y Michelle Ndegwa, quien reemplazó las voces de Neneh Cherry y Shaun Ryder en “Kids with Guns” y “DARE”.
La residencia coincide con la muestra House of Kong, celebrando los 25 años de Gorillaz, y continuará con Plastic Beach el 2 de septiembre y un “Mystery Show” el 3. Mientras Damon Albarn retoma el foco en la banda tras el regreso de Blur y su ópera The Magic Flute II: La Malédiction, el músico también adelantó que un nuevo disco de Gorillaz verá la luz este año.
