En marzo, Sinead O’Connor cambió su nombre a Magda Davitt, un nombre que ella adoptó para estar «libre de maldiciones parentales«. Ahora, después de anunciar que se había convertido al Islam, irá por un nuevo nombre: Shuhada Davitt. Su nombre de Twitter ha cambiado para reflejar su nuevo cambio.
«Esto es para anunciar que estoy orgullosa de haberme convertido en musulmán«, escribió el 19 de octubre. “Esta es la conclusión natural del viaje de cualquier teólogo inteligente. Todo estudio de las Escrituras conduce al Islam«.
This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim. This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant. I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada’
